Today, I delivered Daphne to The Waters’ Edge Visitors Centre, Barton upon Humber. I was extremely honoured to be asked to make Daphne out of willow after learning how much she meant to the local people.  She had often appeared near the Visitors Centre and families and passers-by would look out for her as they enjoyed their walk. Unfortunately, she was attacked by a dog and could not be saved. There’s a beautiful memorial wall to Daphne, and so it was extremely important to me to capture Daphne through my willow sculpture. She can be see at The Waters’ Edge Visitors Centre from Sunday 30th July for their special ‘Wildlife Day’.
